OPSS issues Stop Notices to CVS Energy Ltd

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued two Stop Notices (dated 21st October 2024) to CVS Energy Ltd t/a Clearview Stoves. These follow previously issued Compliance Notices in August 2024.

The first of these Notices, served under Regulation 13(b) and Schedule 5, para ​13​(1)(a) of the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010 states that the manufacturer breached Regulation 14(1) of Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010 by failing “to make all relevant technical information and documentation including Declarations of Conformity for the above products, available for inspection by OPSS. Furthermore, the manufacturer failed to take action or respond to the previously served Compliance Notices (dated 21 August 2024).”

The second Notice, served under Regulation 6(d) and Schedule 4, para 13(1)(a)  of the Energy Information Regulations 2011 states that the manufacturer has breached Regulation 11(1)(b) of the Energy Information Regulations 2011 for the same reasons.

Under the terms of the Notices Clearview Stoves is prohibited from placing the products listed onto the market until a completion certificate is issued by OPSS.
