The Stove Industry Association (SIA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Knowledge Hub – a free online resource designed to help consumers make informed decisions about wood burning stoves and learn how to use them safely, efficiently and responsibly.
Available now on the SIA website, the Knowledge Hub brings together a growing library of short, easy-to-understand videos covering many of the questions consumers ask most frequently. Whether someone is considering purchasing their first stove, already owns one, or simply wants to understand more about modern stove technology, the Knowledge Hub provides clear, evidence-based guidance they can trust.
The new resource has been developed to support consumers with practical advice on key topics including:
- Smoke Control Areas
- Using the correct fuel
- Lighting and operating a stove correctly
- Chimney sweeping and maintenance
- Air quality and responsible wood burning
With increasing amounts of information available online, it can often be difficult for consumers to distinguish fact from opinion. The SIA has created the Knowledge Hub to provide a single, trusted source of information based on current legislation, industry best practice and the latest available evidence.
The videos have been produced in a straightforward, accessible format, making them suitable for both new and existing stove owners. They are also available on the SIA’s YouTube channel, allowing them to be easily shared by retailers, installers, chimney sweeps, manufacturers and other organisations across the sector.

We encourage everyone across the industry to share these resources widely so that together we can reach as many consumers as possible with consistent, evidence-based advice.”
The SIA will continue to expand the Knowledge Hub over time, with additional videos and resources planned to address emerging topics and answer further consumer questions.
